Aedifica acquires Shrewsbury care home

European healthcare real estate investment trust Aedifica has acquired the Uplands fully operational care home in Shrewsbury from Marches Care for around £11.5 million.

The home, operated by Bondcare, has capacity for 81 residents and has an initial net rental yield of approximately 6.5%.

Aedifica’s chief executive Stefaan Gielens commented: “Aedifica continues to expand its healthcare real estate portfolio in the United Kingdom and is investing approximately £11.5 million in the acquisition of a fully operational care home in Shrewsbury, Shropshire. The purpose-built care home comprises 81 en suite bedrooms for seniors requiring continuous care. Thanks to this transaction, we are once again expanding our collaboration with Bondcare, an established elderly care provider.
