Social careCareTech: Dr Vishelle Kamath
Specialist care and education provider CareTech has appointed Dr Vishelle Kamath as its medical director.
With 20 years’ experience in the sector and a track record in health care, quality management and clinical governance, Kamath assumes responsibility for the group’s care, quality and governance framework.
Kamath has worked both in the NHS and in the independent sector, from St. Andrews Healthcare, where she worked as clinical director and in a quality improvement role.
Nasir Quraishi, CareTech’s executive director for adult services, said: “I am very pleased to welcome Vishelle to the senior leadership team. Vishelle has a wealth of experience in medical leadership and management. Her expertise will be instrumental in leading CareTech’s clinical strategy to operate and grow our innovative, outcome-focused care provision.”
Kamath commented: “I’m delighted to be joining the team at CareTech, and I’m really looking forward to working with the team to deliver the highest possible standard of care.”
CareTech operates more than 250 specialist services for adults diagnosed with mental health, learning disabilities, autism and acquired brain injury. The group hit headlines recently. As reported by HealthInvestor UK, Sheikh Holdings Group, the family office of the Sheikh brothers, said on 7 March that it was in the early stages of forming a consortium to make a possible takeover offer for CareTech. This was followed by a separate proposal from DBAY Advisors.
