Circle Health Group has appointed Peter James as medical director and responsible officer.

James is a consultant orthopaedic surgeon and was recently appointed clinical chair at The Park Hospital. He qualified from medical school in Nottingham in 1985 and completed his orthopaedic training in Leeds and Glasgow. While in Glasgow he was a lecturer in the academic orthopaedic department at Glasgow University. His first consultant post was at Glasgow Royal Infirmary and in 2000 he moved to what is now Nottingham University Hospitals.

James has an international reputation for complex knee replacement and revision and particularly high-performance knee replacements for active patients. He also has experience in service development and redesign and has re-engineered processes which increase efficiency while maintaining patient safety and enhancing patient satisfaction.
