Global Counsel: Matthew Swindells

Matthew Swindells (pictured) has been appointed as a new senior advisor at advisory firm Global Counsel (GC) to support its clients in health, healthtech, life sciences and pharmaceuticals and advise clients in adjacent sectors such as social care and wider clinical services.

Swindells was formerly national director of the NHS and was senior policy advisor to the secretary of state at the Department of Health, as well as having worked globally as a senior vice-president for a healthcare IT company.

Benjamin Wegg-Prosser, managing director of Global Counsel, said: “Global Counsel’s health offer will be boosted by Matthew’s appointment. He brings a wealth of experience which will help guide our clients focused on life sciences, healthtech and social care to secure the best outcomes for their businesses and the best service to patients and citizens.”

Global Counsel states that it works with clients to navigate the area between business, politics and policymaking. GC’s political due diligence practice works with investors and management teams across a wide range of sectors to anticipate the ways in which politics, regulation and public policymaking drive both risk and opportunity associated with specific assets and broader portfolios – and to develop strategies to meet these challenges.
