Ramsay Health Care has appointed Nick Costa as chief executive of Ramsay Health Care UK.

Costa has been Ramsay UK’s chief operating officer since 2018. He was previously regional operations and transformation director at Nuffield Health, with responsibility for the delivery of services and standards, as well as the business transformation agenda.

Costa joins the Ramsay Health Care global executive, alongside the chief executives of Ramsay’s Australian, European and Asian businesses.

Ramsay Health Care managing director and chief executive Craig McNally said Costa had been instrumental in steering Ramsay UK’s operations through the challenges of the pandemic, adding: “We are delighted to appoint such a high calibre and well-respected candidate from within the business. Nick has extensive experience in the healthcare sector and has proven to be an accomplished and collaborative team leader who deeply values our Ramsay Way of people caring for people. His seasoned leadership will strengthen our UK business and put us on the front foot as healthcare evolves into new and integrated services.”

Costa takes over from Dr Andy Jones, who has been appointed Ramsay Health Care’s first group chief growth officer to lead the global business transformation strategy.
