Signature Senior Lifestyle: Vishul Seewoolall

Vishul Seewoolall,

Care home provider Signature Senior Lifestyle has appointed Vishul Seewoolall as chief operating officer.

Following a 20-year career in the care industry, Seewoolall’s leadership and commitment to enhancing care delivery will further bolster Signature’s senior leadership team, the company said.

In his former role as group director of operations and sales at Signature Senior Lifestyle, he played a role in overseeing the regulatory and financial performance of all 10 homes in Signature’s portfolio.

Seewoolall originally joined Signature Senior Lifestyle in 2018 as regional operations director, where he oversaw six of Signature’s luxury communities. Under his stewardship, the region achieved a 65% year-over-year increase in EBITDA, a 95% reduction in agency usage, and meaningful improvements in both colleague engagement and occupancy rates.

In his subsequent role as operations transformation director, Seewoolall was instrumental in the 2021 integration of Sunrise and Gracewell Homes into Signature Senior Lifestyle, mapping out critical systems and processes to ensure a smooth transition. His expertise in managing large-scale organisational change has been pivotal in ensuring financial and regulatory success throughout various operational transformations.

Seewoolall recently led the rollout of Signature’s safety-monitoring programme, which offers residents of Signature’s dementia communities and their families the option of having independently monitored cameras in their living spaces to enhance care and safety. This initiative has improved operational performance and strengthened the dignity and safety of residents. It has been well received by residents, relatives, and Signature colleagues, as well as wider sector advocate Care Campaign for the Vulnerable (CCFTV).

Prior to joining Signature Senior Lifestyle, Seewoolall held leadership roles at care organisations including Bupa, Look Ahead and MTVH, among others. He also holds multiple accreditations in community mental health, psychology, registered management and quality assurance.

Seewoolall said: “I am proud to take on the role of chief operating officer at Signature Senior Lifestyle. My journey with Signature has already been incredibly rewarding and leading on the implementation of our milestone safety monitoring technology programme to enhance resident safety and care has been a deeply meaningful achievement.

“I look forward to further driving delivery of excellent quality care across our homes in my new role. Together with our dedicated team of colleagues, we will continue to ensure an exceptional standard of living for each and every one of our residents.”

Kay Cox, chief executive at Signature Senior Lifestyle, commented: “Vishul’s strategic oversight and dedication to quality have been pivotal in elevating the quality care that we deliver to residents.

“His promotion to chief operating officer is a testament to his unwavering commitment to driving organisational improvements and we look forward to seeing how this new role will enable him to champion continuous improvement and positive transformation across Signature Senior Lifestyle.”
