Global self-care platform Your.MD has promoted Jonathon Carr-Brown (pictured), founder of NHS Choices, to chief operations officer.

Carr-Brown joined Your.MD from NHS Choices in 2015 as head of partnerships, before becoming director of operations in 2019. He founded and launched NHS Choices (now referred to as the NHS website), in 2007, growing the site from three million visits a month to 48 million in four years. Prior to that he was speechwriter to then Labour secretary of state of health Patricia Hewitt, health correspondent for The Sunday Times and political editor of the Independent on Sunday.

Creators of the self-care app Healthily, Your.MD aim to become the first port of call for clinical-grade information ahead of contacting a GP.

Carr-Brown forms a senior management team which includes chief executive and co-founder, Matteo Berlucchi and GP and Your.MD medical director and former Royal College of General Practitioners chair, Professor Maureen Baker.

Carr-Brown said: “Having joined Your.MD five years ago I am really excited to have been given the opportunity to continue to grow our business in pre-primary care which is going from strength to strength.”
