HealthInvestor supports The Big 100

HealthInvestor is proud to support The Big 100, a cycling charity event taking place this Thursday 14 September, organised by executive search agency Carter Schwartz.

The Big 100 will bring together nearly 50 cyclists from across healthcare who will raise money for children’s charity Spread A Smile, with riders powering through The Chilterns for either a 100km or a 100-mile planned cycle route. Both routes are challenging and both take in L’Etape UK, part of the Tour de France Sportive.

This is a fully supported all-day ride with professional team leaders on each route with vehicle support and marks a return to the saddle since the charity’s last cycle challenge in 2019 before the pandemic hit.

Carter Schwartz’s founder and managing partner Adam Carter said: “This is the perfect storm with people desperate to get out on their bikes and be challenged since so many events, including our annual cycle ride had to be put on hold due to the pandemic. This year’s support from sponsors, riders and our network has been incredible.

“I was a dinner guest at an event hosted by Spread A Smile earlier this year. I was deeply moved by the work they do with very sick and terminally ill children by arranging entertainers to go into children’s hospital wards and respite to simply put a smile on their faces. We are equally delighted with the support we have received from sponsors and participants who have all shared training tips, amazing Strava rides, and even a few falls in preparation for this long-distance event.”

This year’s headline sponsor is investment management and business finance firm Downing.

Downing partner, Mark Gross said: “Downing and The Downing Foundation are proud to be headline sponsor of The Big 100 cycle ride. A huge thank you to Carter Schwartz for organising the event; bringing professionals together from across the healthcare industry and raising money and awareness for the wonderful healthcare charity, Spread a Smile”.

Other sponsors for this year’s event are Bracebridge Care as Silver Rider Registration Sponsor, along with Bevan Brittan, Hazlewoods, JEM Property, Precious, DC Advisory, SenseCheck (Digital Partner), Colliers, Connell Consulting, Shawbrook, and HealthInvestor.

Lucy Jackson, chief executive of Spread A Smile said: “We’re extremely grateful to the team at Carter Schwartz for their amazing support in producing the TB100. We are proud to be the charity partner for this incredible challenge and are right behind every single rider who is taking part and helping to raise vital funds to spread smiles to seriously ill children and young people in hospital.”

Registration for the ride, is now closed, however donations will remain open until after the event. People can also follow the race via Twitter or Instagram.
