Prime Minister’s Office: James Kent
Prime Minister Theresa May has hired former management consultant James Kent as her special advisor on health.
The news, which was revealed by HSJ, is significant as May has not had a special advisor on health since she became Prime Minister in July, and there have been concerns the state of the NHS is not such a big priority for her.
Kent was formerly a management consultant at Boston Consulting Group and has worked in management consultancy for over 20 years. Prior to that, he worked as a junior doctor in the NHS.
