Dentex makes second acquisition in a week
Dental group Dentex has acquired Ceramiart Dental Laboratories in Marylebone, Central London, which specialises in all types of ceramic restorations. The deal follows Dentex’s acquisition of Shawlands Dental Care, a Glasgow dental care operator, earlier this week.
Dentex owns and operates 129 practices across the UK, a number of which already work with Ceramiart, which was established 27 years ago by Marcel Roetjen, who will remain at the business.
Roetjen said: “I am very proud to have helped grow Ceramiart into one of the leading laboratories in the dental sector. I am sure that Dentex will be an excellent partner and I look forward to working with them at this very exciting time in dentistry.”
Dentex’a chief executive Barry Lanesman, commented: “As our first standalone fully specialised dental lab acquisition, we are excited to begin a partnership developing high-quality dental lab services. We look forward to working with Marcel and Ceramiart to grow the lab offering for our clinicians and the wider dental community.”
Business property advisor Christie & Co facilitated the sale.
Simon Hughes, managing director, medical at Christie & Co, said: “Due to the first-class quality of the business and its strong profile in the profession, this really is a landmark deal for the sector. Ceramiart’s name is synonymous with the very best in dental technology.”
Law firm Capsticks acted for the seller, and Dentex was represented by its in-house legal team.
