Jim Warwick is to step down from the board at Abcam by the end of 2016.

Warwick is retiring, having most recently served as chief operating officer at the life sciences research company.

Abcam chief executive Alan Hirzel said: "Jim has played a key role in Abcam’s journey and has shaped a large part of our success. We will work with him on how we manage his portfolio of work and setting up the business with new key roles to support our next phase of growth and change.”
