Douglas Quinn has replaced Sir Rod Aldridge as chair of Acorn Care & Education.
Aldridge, who founded outsourcing firm Capita, has stepped down “to concentrate on his expanding chain of academies” according to a statement from Acorn. He is the founder of The Aldridge Foundation which sponsors three academies.
Quinn has worked in the care sector for over 30 years and previous roles include chief executive of Voyage Care, development director for Court Cavendish and regional director for Bupa’s care home division. He is currently chairman of Casteloak and Baywater Healthcare, non-executive director of Voyage Care, an operating partner at Duke Street and is the treasurer of Care England among other roles.
Acorn Care & Education provides care, fostering and education services to children and adolescents with learning difficulties.
