Animalcare Group: Chris Cardon, Iain Menneer and Walter Beyers

Animalcare Group, the UK-based veterinary medicine and product supplier, has made several changes to its executive board.

The news follows shareholder approval at the company’s AGM on 12 July for its reverse takeover of European animal health company Ecuphar, a larger company, which it first announced in June.

Ecuphar founder and head Chris Cardon becomes chief executive of the new group, while Walter Beyers transfers his role as chief financial officer.

New board members Jan Boone (non-executive director), Edwin Torr (senior independent non-executive director) and Marc Coucke (non-executive director) have also been appointed.

Former AnimalCare chief executive Iain Menneer remains as a director, with his role within the enlarged group changing to chief operating officer.

James Lambert has stepped down as chairman (the role he held at Animalcare before the merger) but will remain on the board as a non-executive director.

Meanwhile Raymond Harding, previously a non-executive director of the UK company, and Chris Brewster, its former chief financial officer, have resigned as directors. Brewster will remain part of the senior management team as country manager of the merged group’s UK business.

The changes became effective on 13 July.
