Apposite Capital: Cécile Nguyen-Cluzel

Healthcare specialist private equity investor Apposite Capital has appointed Cécile Nguyen-Cluzel as a senior advisor, to help develop its business in France and other European markets.

Nguyen-Cluzel has more than 28 years’ experience of investing in the small and lower-midcap market in France, mostly in the healthcare sector, with notable deals including IMMR, a life science outsourced research provider and Orthoway an orthopaedic clinic business. She has also developed an extensive network of entrepreneurs, experts and advisors.

Nguyen-Cluzel began her career as an investor in 1995 with Initiative & Finance, one of the pioneers of leveraged buyouts in France. As director she was involved in the first LBO in France relating to a biological analysis laboratory, Laboratoire Pasteur Cerba. She left in 2002 and took part in the spin-off and creation of MBO+, an independent French private equity firm focused on small cap LBOs and growth capital transactions. She was appointed partner in 2008, member of the MBO+ management board in 2019, and was responsible for ESG at MBO+ from 2019 to 2022, alongside her investment activities.

Sam Gray, managing partner of Apposite Capital said: “Apposite has grown significantly over the past several years including expanding our geographic scope with investments now in six European countries. We are delighted to have Cécile supporting Apposite Capital with a focus on the French market where we see a very exciting set of opportunities, and with her breadth and depth of investing experience, she will also be able to add value to the Apposite platform as a whole.”
