Accountancy and business advisory firm BDO has appointed Dr Gurpal Ahluwalia as a partner in its M&A advisory team in London.
Ahluwalia will lead the team’s commercial due diligence activities in the healthcare and life sciences sectors, and focus on growth strategy projects.
He joins BDO following four years at KPMG and prior to that, the Boston Consulting Group. Ahluwalia qualified as a doctor in 2002, specialising in cardiothoracic surgery at a number of NHS hospitals and, during a varied career, has been responsible for project delivery across a range of sectors, including med-tech, pharma, healthcare and social care.
BDO managing partner Paul Eagland said: “Gurpal is a welcome addition to our already strong M&A advisory team. His background in medicine will be invaluable when it comes to helping us grow our healthcare and life sciences offering.”
