Simon Shepherd has been announced as the new executive director of BMI-owned The Alexandra Hospital in Cheadle, which serves patients in South Manchester and Cheshire.

Shepherd will succeed Philip Oehley in the role, having worked at Yates Group and Oasis Healthcare before joining Nuffield Health, where he was the director of the Wessex Hospital in Eastleigh, Hampshire.

BMI chief executive Jill Watts added: “Simon is a very experienced hospital operator who joins us at an exciting time for the Alexandra Hospital.
