Jacqui Atkinson has been appointed as head of the healthcare employment team nationally at law firm Browne Jacobson, based in Birmingham.

Atkinson joins from specialist health law firm Capsticks in Birmingham, where she was head of employment, and in her new role will support the growth of Browne Jacobson’s public and private healthcare practice regionally.

Atkinson has more than 20 years’ experience advising NHS trust boards and senior managers of NHS bodies on contentious and non-contentious employment law matters. This includes whistleblowing, complex disciplinary cases and grievances, discrimination, Transfer of Undertakings (Protection of Employment) Regulations, collective consultation, and redundancy issues.

She has also dealt with employment issues concerning healthcare body mergers and is an experienced litigator.
