Catherine Barton is to join Bupa UK as finance and commercial director.

In her new role, Barton will lead Bupa’s UK finance, legal, risk and actuarial teams.

She will join from her role as partner at Ernst & Young, where she has worked since 2010.

Barton was also employed at Deloitte from May 2001 until June 2009. She was made partner at the firm in 2005.

Bupa UK said Barton would join the UK team “later this year”, but did not give an exact date.

Bupa UK managing director Richard Bowden said: “I’m delighted to have Catherine join our UK leadership team. Catherine brings exceptional experience and knowledge which will be invaluable as we continue to drive for growth, focusing on transforming our business to meet the changing healthcare needs of the UK.”
