Care provider Cambian Group has announced the appointment of Mike Butterworth as an independent non-executive director with immediate effect.

Butterworth will also join Cambian's audit and risk committee, remuneration committee and nominations committee. He worked at Cookson Group from June 2005 to 2013 as finance director and Incepta Group from 2001 to 2004 as group finance director.

Cambian chairman Christopher Kemball said: "I am delighted to welcome Mike to Cambian. Mike will bring his wealth of experience to the company at an important time in its development and will be a considerable asset to the group. The board, management team and I look forward to working with him."
