Capsticks: Hugh Giles

Law firm Capsticks has appointed Hugh Giles as a partner, starting 2 January.

Giles joins from the Metropolitan Police Service, where he was director of legal services and served on the management board. Prior to that, he was head of litigation at the Treasury Solicitor’s Department (now called the Government Legal Department) where he was involved in a number of high-profile public law cases.

At Capsticks, Giles will work across sectors, with a particular focus on developing the firm’s expanding emergency services practice.

Senior partner at Capsticks Rachael Heenan commented: “We are delighted to welcome Hugh to Capsticks and look forward to working with him. His expertise complements the firm well and will benefit all our clients whilst strengthening our service offering to emergency services organisations.”

Hugh commented: “I am excited to be joining such a highly regarded firm. Capsticks has a strong record in public law work and in providing excellent client service and I look forward to helping the firm build on these successes.”
