Capsticks: Stephen Tainsh

Healthcare law firm Capsticks today announced that Stephen Tainsh has joined its new medical technology group, from law firm Blake Morgan.

Tainsh is a corporate, commercial and projects lawyer, with more than 15 years’ experience advising public and private sector clients on a wide range of transactions.

He focuses in particular on advising private sector med-tech companies about mergers and acquisitions, collaborations and joint ventures, innovative financing models, the supply of devices and consumables, and the supply of software, consultancy and data analysis services.

Capsticks’ head of commercial division Mike Clifford said: “Stephen’s market-leading med-tech experience will further strengthen our offering to our independent and public sector healthcare clients nationwide. His appointment is timely given the recent comments from Matt Hancock, the new secretary of state for health and social care, about his commitment to investing almost £500 million to improve medical technology.”

Tainsh commented: “Capsticks advises on the most groundbreaking, high-value and politically sensitive matters in the health and social care sector. Over the last 15 years or so, I have advised on a number of transactions opposite Capsticks, in particular the dissolution of the Mid Staffordshire NHS Foundation Trust, where I advised the trust special administrator, and Capsticks advised one of the receiving trusts.

“I have always been impressed by Capsticks’ knowledge of the regulatory environment and their transactional expertise for both the public and private sector clients.”
