The healthcare watchdog Care Quality Commission (CQC) has appointed John Milne as its national professional dental advisor.

Milne’s role will include advising the CQC’s inspection team on best practice in dental care.

Milne is a practicing dentist in West Yorkshire and chair of the British Dental Association’s General Dental Practice committee.

Janet Williamson, the CQC’s deputy chief inspector of primary medical services and integrated care, said: “John brings with him a wealth of experience. His expertise and insight into what quality care looks like, and his ability to challenge us on the implications of regulation will be invaluable.”
