Care Quality Commission: Ursula Gallagher

The Care Quality Commission (CQC), the regulator of UK healthcare industry, has appointed Ursula Gallagher as its deputy chief inspector for the primary care service inspection in London, effective from May 2015.

Gallagher will be responsible for developing new ways to inspect primary care services. Along with three other deputy chief inspectors, she will report to Steve Field, the chief inspector of general practice.

Currently, Gallagher works for Brent, Harrow and Hillingdon clinical commissioning groups as director of quality and patient safety as well as a governing body nurse member.

Field said: “Ursula will play a critical role in supporting the roll out of our new approach to inspecting primary care in our capital city, highlighting the standards of practice that her team finds."
