CareTech Holdings: Professor Moira Livingston and Mike Adams
Specialist care provider CareTech Holdings has appointed Professor Moira Livingston as a non-executive director effective immediately.
She will chair the group’s care governance and safeguarding committee.
Livingston has worked in health and social care for 32 years, initially as a doctor in the field of older-age psychiatry and latterly as a senior clinical leader and manager in the NHS.
She has led national programmes for the Department of Health, was a specialist advisor with the Care Quality Commission and is currently the managing director of her own healthcare consultancy.
Livingston is also a non-executive director at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, where she is a member of the quality assurance committee, and until recently was a trustee and chair of the charity Dementia Matters.
Compass Executives advised on Livingston's appointment.
CareTech also appointed Mike Adams as an executive director with immediate effect.
Adams is chief executive of disability agency Purple, which is 60% owned by CareTech. He will perform a strategic role for the group, progressing the Purple business model – which seeks to transform thinking and “change the conversation” by bringing together disabled people and business.
