Churchill Estates Management: Emma McCarthy

Emma McCarthy

Retirement property management company Churchill Estates Management (CEM) has promoted Emma McCarthy to the position of managing director from her previous role of commercial director.

An independent arm of the Churchill Retirement Group, CEM manages more than 200 developments across the UK, providing management services to over 10,000 retired people daily.

As the daughter of Churchill’s co-founder Clinton McCarthy, Emma is the third generation of McCarthys to take a senior leadership role in the family-run company, and the first woman. She will lead CEM’s strategic direction and oversee its plans to develop its range of property management and retirement living services.

McCarthy joined CEM more than four years ago, having previously spent four years working in a variety of roles throughout the Churchill Retirement Group. She has also played an instrumental role in the creation and growth of the group’s charity, the Churchill Foundation, which has raised more than £2 million to date for a wide range of causes.

During her time with CEM, McCarthy has grown its portfolio of properties under management by 795 units and launched its Careline Support service to support apartment owners across the country, as well as introducing other income streams to the business.

McCarthy said: “I’m excited to be stepping up to lead our fantastic team of people as we look to build on our strong reputation and award-winning track record in the retirement living sector. We’ve made excellent progress since our successful rebrand in 2022, and I’m looking forward to taking the company to the next level as we continue to expand our presence across the country and pursue our exciting plans for the future.”

Spencer J McCarthy, Churchill Retirement Living’s chairman and chief executive, added: “We are delighted to see Emma progress into this new role and bring her wealth of knowledge and experience to bear as she guides CEM and Careline into their next phase of development. Her leadership will help cement their place as an integral part of the wider Churchill Group, ensuring the ongoing success of the retirement communities we build by providing a trusted and value-for-money service to our customers for the long term.”

Founded in 2006, CEM is headquartered in Ringwood, Hampshire.
