Global health services company, Cigna Europe, has appointed Dr Anne Lepetit as medical director, joining the firm’s senior leadership team and responsible for defining and executing a clinical strategy and implementing the company’s growth plans.

Lepetit has more than 25 years’ experience in the healthcare industry. Having previously worked as a doctor in emergency departments for more than a decade, Lepetit has also held senior positions within companies such as Allianz, Henner and Europ Assistance.  Previous roles include group chief medical officer at Allianz where she managed a team of 200 nurses and doctors across international health, emergency assistance and virtual care, and IPMI health providers director and medical director at Group Henner.

Lepetit holds an emergency medical doctor certificate and has 14 years’ experience as an emergency physician in French hospitals and she has organised and performed medical evacuations internationally.

Cigna Europe’s chief executive Arjan Toor said: “Dr Lepetit brings a wealth of medical knowledge, effective leadership and direction which is critical to successfully implementing our refreshed international markets and total health and network strategies. Her appointment to our Senior Leadership Team will further strengthen Cigna to ensure we are well placed in the market to become the Whole Health partner for the people we serve throughout Europe.”
