Cornerstone Healthcare Group has appointed Jonathan Spencer as its NAPPI (Non-Abusive Psychological and Physical Intervention) trainer to work across all of its services.
Spencer will be responsible for delivering training on psychological and physical techniques to all staff and assisting the group’s nurses in personalising care plans around any NAPPI requirements that an individual may have.
NAPPI is the assessment, support and management of residents whose behaviour may become challenging. Cornerstone Healthcare operates three specialist nursing homes, located in Surrey and Hampshire, which care for people with challenging behaviours associated with complex neurological and mental health needs.
Cornerstone Healthcare’s chief operating officer Dara Ní Ghadhra said: “At Cornerstone we pride ourself on providing specialist and dedicated training for our staff and this appointment only emphasises that. It will provide employees with the best possible training and ensure all our staff are equipped with the skills and knowledge they need to succeed in delivering the highest quality of care in this specialist environment.”
