PharmaFulcrum Care: Karen Johnson
Care home management consultant Fulcrum Care has appointed Karen Johnson as head of quality assurance.
Johnson has 25 years’ experience focused predominately on quality and operations for elderly care. From a career working in care home inspection turnaround, followed by senior operational and strategic roles, Johnson was most recently clinical director and chief nurse at care home provider HC-One.
Fulcrum Care’s chief executive Tony Thiru said: “This is an exciting moment for Fulcrum as we look to expand the business after continued growth and development. We are delighted to have Karen join us at such a pivotal time. Her arrival enables us to develop and implement an extended service and product offering to the sector in a way that will be a gamechanger for smaller providers. Karen is passionate about the delivery of safe, reliable quality care for all and uses her knowledge and experience to ensure policies and procedures are evidence-based and a useful tool to make a manager’s life easier and to give owners and investors the insights they need to strengthen care and commercials.”
Johnson said: “I am delighted to be joining Fulcrum and to be part of the upward trajectory of the firm. In the future for the industry, and as part of Fulcrum’s offering, I want to see the support that larger providers can give, such as support services and teams of experts, be available to everyone, even owners with one care home. I want to deliver the level of support that big providers take for granted and bring the skills and experience that I and the team at Fulcrum have and make them available to everyone.”
