Care home provider HC-One has appointed former Care Quality Commission chief executive Sir David Behan (pictured) as a non-executive director.
The appointment is Sir David’s only residential care sector post after leaving the CQC in July, after six years as chief executive. His previous roles included director general for social care, local government and care partnerships, at the Department of Health and director of social services for the London borough of Greenwich, and before that for Cleveland County Council.
Sir David said: “I’ve been impressed by HC-One’s commitment to ensuring their residents are safe, happy and well cared for and that their staff are well supported and trained. I’m very much looking forward to working with the HC-One board to maintain and develop safe, kind, high-quality care.”
HC-One chief executive Justin Hutchens said: “Sir David’s appointment to our board strengthens our senior talent and strategic leadership, enabling us to build upon our industry-leading performance.”
