Residential, nursing and domiciliary care services provider Healthcare Homes Group has appointed David Smith to its board.

Smith joined the company last May as head of estates and property services, responsible for managing the group’s portfolio of 37 residential and nursing care homes. 

Smith previously worked for Cygnet Health Care for three years, where he was responsible for the facilities management of more than 30 mental health hospitals. He has also worked with the NHS, including at its Imperial College and University College London sites where he ran the estates services for a number of London hospitals. 

Healthcare Homes Group chief executive Gordon Cochrane said: “Having joined the business 11 months ago, David has already made an invaluable contribution to our business; his experience of managing large property portfolios and his knowledge and advice is of great benefit to the group.” 

Smith commented: “With 37 homes in total, managing the facilities, structural integrity and fabric of each and every property is of paramount importance. I’ve already established a good contractor base and have put further measures in place to better manage, maintain and refresh our buildings as needed; enabling our residents to enjoy living in each of our homes’ comfortable surroundings.”
