Dental services organisation IDH Group, which comprises the {my}dentist brand and DD Group, today announced that Kevin Beeston has been appointed as chairman with immediate effect.

Beeston is the senior independent director of Severn Trent, chairman of Elysium Healthcare, and a non-executive director of the FA Premier League.

Beeston has been chairman of public and private companies, including developer and homebuilder Taylor Wimpey, Domestic and General, a provider of extended warranty services, and Partnerships in Care, a specialist provider of mental health services. He was previously chairman of Serco Group until 2010 during a 25-year career with the company, during which he held the roles of chief executive and chief financial officer.

The appointment follows the acquisition by Palamon Capital Partners of The Carlyle Group’s majority shareholding in IDH Group.
