KIMS Hospital: Marcus Whiteley

KIMS Hospital has appointed Marcus Whiteley as chief operating officer.

Whiteley (pictured) joins the private hospital from King Edward VII’s Hospital, London, where he was director of operations. Previous roles include senior management positions at the Harley Street Clinic, London Clinic and operational roles at hotels such as the Ritz Hotel London and Claridges.

KIMS is one of the newest private hospitals in the UK, opening in April 2014. The facility is based in Kent and was set up with the aim of attracting patients who would prefer an alternative to travelling into London for treatment.

“My role at KIMS Hospital is about continuously improving our patient experience from the moment a patient first arrives at the hospital, during their stay with us, through to the point they go home,” said Whiteley.

Simon James, chief executive of KIMS, said: “Marcus’ experience and credentials complement an already strong team and will take us from strength to strength. We have an exciting future ahead of us, evidenced by our financial backing, our relationships with local GPs, consultants, NHS commissioners and partners."
