Medica Group: Dr Stuart Quin

Teleradiology services provider Medica Group has appointed Dr Stuart Quin (pictured) as chief executive. John Graham will remain chief executive until Quin joins Medica on 1 September.

Quin works at Synlab, an international laboratory diagnostic services provider, where he is head of Central and Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa. He has also worked as the company’s group chief commercial officer, as well as chief executive of its UK operations.

Prior to Synlab, Quin worked in private equity, as an investment director at August Equity and for seven years at 3i in the UK and Germany as an associate director focusing on investing in healthcare. He also spent four years at Accenture in the US and UK as a manager in the health and life sciences strategy consulting practice.

Quin has a bachelor’s degree in immunology from the University of Edinburgh, a PhD in immunology from Imperial College London and an MBA from INSEAD.

Medica chairman Roy Davis said: “We undertook a rigorous recruitment process and the board believe that Stuart is ideally suited to lead Medica as we look to continue the high growth of our business both in the UK and overseas. Stuart brings extensive experience of providing a breadth of diagnostic services to the UK’s National Health Service and to independent sector customers, as well as a background in strategic leadership of an international healthcare business.”

Quin added: “I am honoured to have the opportunity to lead Medica through the next phase of its development. The company has a strong reputation of delivering teleradiology services to NHS trusts across the UK. I am looking forward to working with the team at Medica, to identify and execute new growth opportunities and continuing to offer the highest-quality service for customers.”
