NHS Transformation Unit: Nigel Gloudon

The NHS Transformation Unit, a specialist internal NHS consultancy, has appointed former Deloitte director Nigel Gloudon to its senior team.

Previously NHS England’s head of finance for Cheshire and Merseyside, Gloudon (pictured) was mentored by health service chief executive Simon Stevens. Prior to that, he held senior positions at Deloitte and PwC.

In his new role, Gloudon will serve as director of transformation, ensuring that the organisation’s change programmes are managed effectively.

The NHS Transformation Unit was established in 2016 as an internal NHS consultancy service provider, specialising in large-scale transformation and in particular the redesign of acute services. It also covers financial analytics, programme management and public consultation.

Gloudon commented: “Our national health service is a wonderful institution, but is required to perform and deliver better. This role allows me to demonstrate my deep passion for and commitment to the NHS by helping to shape and implement the change that is needed.”

Leila Williams, chief executive of the NHS Transformation Unit, said: “Nigel has a wealth of knowledge and extensive experience across a number of areas, including in NHS financial recovery, working with NHS boards, audit committees and other management tiers on a range of issues including organisational change and corporate governance.
