Oakland Care: Iain Anderson

Iain Anderson, the outgoing chief executive of National Fostering Agency Group (NFA), has been appointed chairman of Oakland Care.

Oakland, which is backed by Synova Capital, operates three luxury elderly care homes in Essex and East Sussex. Its newest home, 60-bed Beechwood Grove in Eastbourne, opened in June.

Anderson announced in May that he was stepping down from NFA, handing over to Bupa Dental Care’s David Leatherbarrow who takes up the role on 6 August 2018.

Harnoop Atkar, chief executive of Oakland Care, commented: “I am delighted to welcome Iain to the Oakland Care family. Iain brings a wealth of knowledge, experience and expertise to the Oakland Board, and it is clear that he shares our values and aspirations to provide the highest quality care to our residents while ensuring they continue to live happy and fulfilling lives.”

Synova Capital healthcare partner Tim Ashlin said: “The appointment of Iain to chair the Oakland board comes at a crucial time as our new home openings really start to ramp-up and increase the scale of the group.”

Anderson said: “I am absolutely delighted to be taking up the chairman's role at Oakland Care with the aim to support Harnoop and the team in creating a value for money, quality care focus for our residents.”
