Eye health specialist Optegra Eye Health Care has created the new role of clinical research manager for Dr Andreas Hartwig in its research division Optegra Eye Sciences.

Hartwig is a PhD graduate from the University of Manchester and played a key role in setting up the Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP), a research collaboration between the university and the Optegra. He will work further on Optegra’s clinical research programmes.

Dr Clare O’Donnell, head of Optegra Eye Sciences, said: “I am delighted that Andreas has joined the Optegra Eye Sciences team.  During his time as a KTP Research Associate he developed an excellent understanding of Optegra’s business and of eye health care more widely.”
