Retirement villages development company Rangeford Holdings has made four appointments to its senior management team, including Anchor’s Howard Nankivell (pictured) as chief executive, HealthInvestor UK can reveal. 

Roger Davies joins the Octopus Healthcare-backed developer as chairman, Jonathan Harper as finance director, and David Sedman as development director. 

Over the past nine years, Nankivell was an executive director at Anchor. He is particularly experienced within the delivery and management of high-performing retirement communities.

Davies acts as a non-executive director for several organisations in the sectors of care, housing and support services for older people. Previously chief executive of Methodist Homes for the Aged (MHA) for 15 years, he played a prominent role in establishing organisations such as Associated Retirement Community Operators (ARCO), Care England and Your Care Rating.

Harper, a qualified chartered accountant, spent eight years with retirement operator Sunrise Senior Living, including the roles of financial director and interim chief executive.

Previously head of delivery for Octopus Healthcare Development, Sedman spent the last three years focusing on Rangeford, and has dedicated his career to care, retirement community development and design. His previous 15 years’ experience include working with BUPA, Richmond Villages and prominent architectural practices delivering retirement and care communities across the UK.

The new team’s objectives will be to develop and support Rangeford’s existing villages (Wadswick Green in Wiltshire and Mickle Hill in North Yorkshire) while growing the company into one of the UK’s leading operators of retirement communities, the company said.
