Scottish care home operator Renaissance Care has appointed Louise Barnett (pictured) as managing director. She has joined from Balhousie Care Group where she worked for almost six years, latterly as director of operations. Prior to that she worked at Barchester Healthcare for more than 14 years as senior general manager.

The Musselburgh, Edinburgh-based company also appointed Yvonne Mackenzie to the newly-created post of operations director. She also joins from Balhousie Care Group, where she was an area manager for the past three years. Prior to that Mackenzie worked for Real Life Options for more than 16 years, latterly as divisional operations manager for the West of Scoltland. She began her career as a staff nurse.

Renaissance Care currently operate 14 care homes throughout Scotland with close to 700 beds and employs almost 1,000 staff.
