Real estateSovereign Capital: Alex Hay
Private equity house Sovereign Capital has announced the appointment of Alex Hay as partner.
Hay (pictured) joins from RJD Partners, where he has been a partner since 2011, covering a range of sectors.
His areas of expertise include healthcare, education and support services and his previous deals include the £23 million buy-out of training provider Babington Group.
Hay has also previously worked at Close Brothers Corporate Finance and PwC.
Commenting on his decision to move, Hay said: “Sovereign is an active operator with an impressive track record of delivering strong growth for businesses and management teams. Whilst predominantly recognised for their buy and build strategy, Sovereign’s investment style is not prescriptive. Each business is approached with a fresh set of eyes, enabling both the investment team and management to create a framework for growth that is right for that business. It was a combination of the scale of their transactional activity, consistency, focused approach and the quality of the team that attracted me to Sovereign.”
