The King’s Fund: Richard Murray

Richard Murray, director of policy at The King’s Fund, has been appointed as its next chief executive, succeeding the current incumbent Professor Sir Chris Ham when he steps down at the end of the year.

The King’s Fund is an independent think tank, involved with work relating to the health system in England and organising conferences and other events.

The chair of The King’s Fund’s board of trustees Sir Christopher Kelly said: “[Richard] has made a significant contribution to the Fund’s work as director of policy and his knowledge and understanding of the health and care system is second to none. I am confident that he will build on the fund’s achievements in recent years and that the organisation will go from strength to strength under his leadership.”

Murray said: “After five very enjoyable years at the fund, I am thrilled to be taking over as chief executive. With the health and care system facing significant challenges, our role in providing high-quality, independent policy analysis and supporting leaders has never been more vital. It will be a privilege to continue working with such a talented group of people and to lead such a great organisation.”
