John Myatt has joined UnitedHealth Group, the parent company of Optum, as vice president of external affairs.

Myatt joins the firm from Serco, where he worked as strategic development director for six years.

Before this, he was an executive consultant at Capgemini for more than 20 years during which time he helped develop the company’s healthcare practice.

He also gained experience in the public sector as deputy director of the Prime Minister’s Delivery Unit in 2006-7, where he carried out capability reviews of the Department of Health and Department of Communities & Local Government.
