Untold Living: Ed Aldridge
Untold Living has appointed Ed Aldridge as land and planning director to manage the later-living developer-operator’s pipeline of sites and assets.
Aldridge is a qualified chartered surveyor with experience in whole-lifecycle development within the care and later-living sectors. He spent nearly a decade at Castleoak Care Development.
Aldridge said: “Untold Living is flying the flag for Britain’s later-living sector and I am absolutely thrilled to be joining at such a pivotal time of expansion. Britain’s population of older people is projected to grow rapidly, so it is critical that we deliver the required volume of purpose-built retirement homes today to meet the demand of tomorrow.
“I am really looking forward to helping Untold Living grow its pipeline of both sites for development and existing assets for refurbishment and enhancement.”
Russell Jewell, chief executive of Untold Living, commented: “As a seasoned property professional operating in the care sector, Ed brings with him a wealth of expertise that I have no doubt will prove invaluable to ensuring our continued success.
“Since our launch in March this year, Untold Living has assembled an exciting pipeline of new schemes and Ed’s appointment will greatly enhance our capacity to deliver these and identify more exciting opportunities.
“We are actively on the lookout for suitable sites and existing assets, and so I encourage any interested parties to get in touch with Ed.”
Backed by investor Matter Real Estate, Untold Living has so far secured two sites in Crawley, West Sussex and Newport, Shropshire, to deliver two new later-living schemes. Each is set to deliver between 100 and 120 units, comprising apartments and bungalows. The schemes will offer one-, two- and three-bedroom units – as well as amenities – across different mid-market tenures. Developments will include properties to buy, rent and own through shared ownership.
Untold Living is targeting a gross development value of £300 million for its initial development pipeline. The company stated it is seeking to acquire other suitable sites across the UK to expand its portfolio and it is open to discussions with landowners, landlords and agents.
