Real estateVoyage Care: Andrew Cannon
Specialist care provider Voyage Care has appointed Andrew Cannon as chief executive, effective from 25 August.
Cannon (pictured) is presently managing director of care services in Bupa’s UK branch. In the 10 years he has been at Bupa, Cannon has held a number of different roles including head of finance and head of customer service.
Gavin Simonds, chairman of Voyage Care, said Cannon’s appointment “marks the start of a new and exciting chapter in Voyage’s history”.
He added: “Under his leadership, I’m confident we will be able to achieve our vision of becoming the UK’s ‘first choice’ care company for people with learning disabilities and acquired brain injuries. His expertise in customer service and operational excellence will be a significant asset to the business.”
Cannon will take over from Voyage Care chief financial officer and interim chief executive Andrew Winning.
In January, HealthInvestor revealed that former company chief executive Kevin Roberts stepped down just over a year after starting the role.
The news came five months after the acquisition of Voyage Care by Partners Group, Duke Street and Tikehau for £375 million.
At the time, Voyage Care said in a statement: “With the transition to the group’s new investors complete, Kevin now feels the time is right to leave Voyage to pursue other interests and we wish him every success.”
