Mike McKessar

Wren House-backed Voyage Care has appointed Mike McKessar as chief executive.

McKessar will take up his role in early summer. Jayne Davey, chief operating officer, will become interim chief executive when Andrew Cannon leaves in March.

Since 2021, McKessar has been chief commercial officer at HC-One. Before that, he was commercial director at Sunrise Senior Living and spent nine years at Bupa in various senior roles, including leading its medical travel insurance business in Copenhagen and as strategy director for the global division.

Voyage Care’s chair Natalie-Jane Macdonald said: “Mike’s values and ethos are fully aligned to our purpose of delivering great-quality care and support for people with complex needs. Mike is an exceptional leader with deep industry expertise and a track record for delivering growth alongside high standards of care quality. We share Mike’s excitement for his future contribution to Voyage Care’s continued success, building upon the robust platform Andrew and team have developed over the past eight years.”

McKessar said: “I am passionate about the social care sector and am delighted to be joining Voyage Care, a sector-leading provider of specialist care that delivers unrivalled quality outcomes for the people they support. Their purpose of delivering great care and support and their ambition for growth resonates strongly with me. I look forward to working alongside their team of dedicated and committed colleagues for the next phase of Voyage Care’s journey.”
