Zesty: Andy Williams

Zesty, a European digital health company, has appointed a former chief executive of NHS Digital as a board advisor.

Andy Williams, who retired from NHS Digital in March, took up his new role at Zesty on 1 October. He had been NHS Digital chief executive since 2014, and was replaced by former Home Office chief technology officer Sarah Wilkinson.

Williams will now work with Zesty to help grow the business. The company, which specialises in digital appointment bookings, has launched more than 20 new online booking services for NHS trusts.

Williams commented: “Whilst I’ve moved on from my role as head of NHS Digital, I’m still really interested in digital technology in healthcare and Zesty are a little company that have some really interesting propositions and products.”

Zesty chief executive James Balmain described Williams as a natural choice for the role.

“His vast knowledge of the UK healthcare market, impressive network of NHS contacts and operational experience will certainly add value to our board,” he said.
