Care provider Balhousie Care Group has appointed John Kirk in the newly created position of deputy chief executive.

In his new role Kirkwill help Balhousie Care Group grow and develop its portfolio, which features 26 elderly and specialist care facilities across six regions of Scotland. The group’s imminent plans include: new-build care homes in Callander, Dundee and Perth; extensions to two of its most popular care homes, Balhousie Moyness in Broughty Ferry and Balhousie Wheatlands in Bonnybridge; and an expansion of its supported living services in Coupar Angus, which operates under the specialist care brand ASC.

Kirk was most recently managing director of HC-One’s 56 Scottish care homes and is also executive director and vice-chair at Scottish Care, the voice of the independent care sector across Scotland. He worked in financial services before moving into the healthcare sector, joining Allied Healthcare in 2010. He became managing director of Four Seasons Health Care Group in 2014 and in 2018 moved to HC-One.
