Children’s services business, Edison Young People has appointed Natalie-Jane MacDonald as its chair,
MacDonald is an experienced chair and chief executive with a number of change management projects to her credit in the UK and internationally. She was previously chief executive at Sunrise Senior Living until the end of 2021. Before that, she was chief executive at Acorn Care and Education and manging director of Bupa’s UK private medical insurance and clinics business prior to that.
Edison Young People is focused on schools offering education for children with complex additional needs and residential care, supported by therapeutic services.
MacDonald said: “I joined Edison Young People as I am like-minded with the ethos and values of the foundation, the investors, and having led Acorn Care and Education previously I know there is a huge and growing need in this area. It’s also very stimulating working with the management team in a small business with a growth trajectory.”
Carter Schwartz’s managing director Adam Carter advised on the appointment.
