We Care Group: Jo Crossland
We Care Group has appointed Jo Crossland as quality director.
Crossland has more than 30 years’ experience as a registered general nurse working with older people. She spent her first decade in the care home sector before becoming a mental health nurse. She then transitioned to a mental health NHS trust, where she worked in various roles, including acute assessment services and liaison psychiatry for older people with dementia.
In 2009, Crossland joined the University of Bradford’s School of Dementia Studies as a practice development consultant and trainer. There, she helped deliver courses to care workers nationally and internationally. Crossland joined Avery Healthcare in 2016 as head of dementia care.
Crossland has a degree in dementia studies and a master’s in dementia care from the University of Bradford and is in the final year of a part-time PhD at Leeds Beckett University, focusing on the experiences of family caregivers during the transition of a relative with dementia from home care.
Crossland said: “It is a privilege to be part of an organisation dedicated to providing exceptional care for older people. I look forward to collaborating with the team to ensure we continue to uphold and enhance the high standards of care and compassion that We Care Group is known for.”
